Science Experiment

Over the last few weeks 2nd class have been investigating whether plants need the sun. We planted some cress seeds and left some in the sun and some in the shade. We watered our cress seeds every few days and watched them grow!

The cress in the sun grew strong and healthy.

The cress in the shade grew long and thin and eventually died. 

We learned that plants need the sun to make food.

Second Class have been reading lots of books for the MS Readathon. We are reading as many books as possible to help people living with MS.

We have been having lots of fun with the laptops in class on Thursdays with Múinteoir Niamh. We play Maths and English  games to revise our spelling pattern for the week and our maths topic. 

The boys and girls in Second Class love music. We have been learning about music getting louder and softer and faster and slower using percussion instruments.

 

The Solar System

We have been learning all about the Solar System and the Planets. We learned all about the famous astronaut Neil Armstrong and his amazing expedition to the moon!
